A legacy of Hagi's culinary tradition
In the Hagi region of Yamaguchi Prefecture, it has been a tradition for centuries to dry wakame in the sun, chop it finely, and then sprinkle it over rice.
Our Shiso Wakame furikake is directly inspired by this ancient practice. We use tender and flavorful wakame, carefully seasoned with bonito broth, shiso, and sesame, to create a Japanese seaweed condiment rich in umami.
