Clearspring - Sushi Rice 500g

Clearspring's organic sushi rice is ideal for preparing perfectly cooked and flavorful rice, perfect for Japan's iconic dish: sushi. This short-grain rice variety, called Selenio, has characteristics very similar to the Japonica rice traditionally used for sushi in Japan.



It is grown organically in the Piedmont region of northwest Italy, an area also renowned for growing risotto rice.



Once ripe, the rice is carefully polished by a miller in the nearby town of Trino. When only the outer layer of the grain (the husk) is removed, the result is wholegrain rice. To produce white rice, the layers beneath the husk (the bran and germ) are also removed, leaving only the starch-rich endosperm.
